 Introduction
    For Chu Kochen Honors College, opportunities for cross-cultural exchanges and international practices are important components of its unique training modes and effective ways to realize “internationalization”. Through “Talent training programs”, “Melton Foundation” and “Chinese Enterprise Internship Program”, the college funds and dispatches excellent undergraduate students to conduct academic exchanges and internships in Hong Kong and foreign prestigious universities as well as enterprises. Since 2000, more than 500 students have been to Europe, the United States, Australia, Asian countries and Hong Kong to have an exchange for a week to a year. In recent year, more than 150 students have gained opportunities for exchanges abroad.

 International Exchanges Programs

    The Talent Training Program
    Talent Training Program is sponsored by Y.C.TANG Disciplinary Development Fund. From 2002, every year it will select about 50 people to outstanding universities in UK, the United States and other countries to conduct academic and cultural exchanges and visits. It aims to provide opportunities for students to make in-depth understanding of foreign cultures, contact the forefront of academic research, expand horizons, accumulate knowledge, increase angles of reflection, raise the height of observation, and improve abilities of communication, practice and collaboration.

 

    The Melton Foundation
    It is a world-wide community for mutual exchanges of college students, established by founder of VeriFone and CyberCash Dr. William Melt in 1991. Every spring, the Foundation will select new members among freshmen from Chu Kochen Honors College of Zhejiang University in China, BMS College of Engineering in India, Friedrich Schiller University of German, University of La Frontera in Chile and Dillard University in the United States.

    Asia-Pacific Student Entrepreneurship Society (ASES)
    ASES is founded by Asian-American Engineers (SSAE) from Stanford University in April 2000, which is committed to building a first-class cooperation network for Asia-Pacific college students, particularly providing a broad platform for exchanges among students interested in entrepreneurship. It concerns the technology and business development trends of Asia-Pacific Commonwealth and explores how college students develop entrepreneurial spirits. As a branch, ASES-ZJU was formally established in November 2002. Every year, it attracts a number of outstanding students(mainly high-grade undergraduates) to be its members, and its members. Now, it has 16 formal members, 10 honorary members, and 12 alumni who are in PWC, P &G, GE, Peking U, Fudan U, OSU, and UGA.

    The Chinese Enterprise Intership Program
    This program is jointly organized by Chu Kochen Honors College of Zhejiang University and Shaw College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and funded by the Shanghai Association. It aims to encourage college students of Mainland and Hong Kong to participate in short-term internships in Chinese Enterprises with training incentives, and promate interactions among students and business circle, and lay a solid foundation for future cooperation. In this program, through local internship, discussion and presentation, students will have a cherished opportunity to improve their teamwork abilities and get well acquainted with Chinese enterprises and employment situation at home.
